Cécile is French and obtained her Diplome d’Etat en Ergotherapie - French Occupational Therapy degree - in Montpellier (France) in June 2002. She began her career as community Occupational Therapist for adults with long term physical disabilities and cognitive impairments in a charity organisation based in Lyon (France). This experience motivated her to specialise in neuro rehabilitation. She worked in different rehabilitation units in Paris (France) for clients with a range of neurological injuries and illnesses, as well as spinal cord injuries, amputees and orthopaedic injuries.
Since arriving in the UK in 2009, Cécile has worked in acute settings, in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation facilities as well as in a community team. This has given her a good understanding of a client’s continuum of care and rehabilitation.
Cécile uses a range of person-centred approaches and techniques to overcome the cognitive, physical and behavioural difficulties associated with the client’s injury and provides training to carers, family and staff. She is confident at working with clients’ subtle yet impacting difficulties and is able to tailor her approach to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
Cécile moved into independent practice in June 2016, dividing her time between case management and independent OT activities and has a sound understanding of the medicolegal process. However, her passion is direct patient rehabilitation and she has since decided to pursue her career as an independent OT in June 2019.
Cécile is fluent in English, French (mother tongue) and Spanish. She has a school level Italian as well as a basic Arabic level for rehabilitation
